     Regla de Ocha (Santeria) is a beautiful religion that is vibrant, empowering and sings to your spirit. The ILE of Shango hope to share this extraordinary feeling with you, and will always dedicate our spiritual lives to the respect of the Orishas. In the past our scribes,rituals, and ceremonies were to be kept secret as you walked your spiritual Journey. This LAW of secrecy was changed in the last 25 years. With a big win in the supreme Court case: Church of the Lukumi-Babalu Aye, Inc. v. City of Hialeah 508 U.S. 520 (1993). This ruling played a big part in "IFA" and "Regla de Ocha. For hundreds of years the practice was disguised and synchronized to many religions. Catholics,Muslims,Pentecostals,Christians,Jewish and many other religions.

    Regla de ocha evolved when African slaves were stolen,sold and forced to abandon their Mother land (Africa) during the Colonial period and forced to work in Caribbean sugar plantations. During this period, Catholicism was one of the main practices away from (Africa) and other practices or religions were not allowed. Failing to practice any other religion but Catholicism was a crime and you were sentenced to DEATH.   The yorubian African people were creative and synchronized IFA and Regla de la Ocha. The reason for this was that African slaves learned that by respecting their ancestral orishas was safer if their Catholic slave owners believed they were worshiping the saints instead of their orishas. So the Secrecy was initiated and was kept in the vault for hundreds of years. The secrecy was not a law created by the people but a law bestowed upon the African People by the Orichas. The Orichas delivered these laws to the Babalows and Palos during this time. The African People understood very clearly that the result of breaking an Oricha law, was more unbearable than the slave owners quick swift strike of the whip. So it was known. "Don't play with the Orichas".

      Many African priest began to initiated the Spanish communities. Cubans were the first people out of the African tribes to accept and receive this new African spiritual practice. They learned the ways of "IFA" and "Regla de ocha" (The original names). The Cubans began to understand and learn that through harmony and balance, both individually and socially, it will lead ones spirit into the wellness of spirituality in the Rule of Ocha. A person who maintains a good inner balance lives humbly with nature and other individuals. As a result, one tends to experience more life blessings including the opening of successful journeys. When the individual lacks internal balance and is at constant conflict with the world around him/her, it is said that the individual will suffer from negative energy, which manifests as obstacles, poor health, antagonistic relationships, failure, economic ruin and or other problems.

     To regain balance, one must consult with a Oloricha (Priest or priestess)(Santero or Santera) who, through an oracular divination process, communicates with the Orichas, or spirits, to find out what the problem is and how to solve it. This process, generally known as consultation. It is a sacred ceremony combined with prayers and requests to the Orichas, asking for intervention and divine help. Through the intervention of the Orichas on our behalf, we can find our true path in life and live in a more authentic and productive way, resulting in a better life in the here and now. The consultation, or practice of divination, is used to diagnose the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental state of the person who comes for help.

     The Secrecy law is no longer in effect and has been declared by the orichas, Orunmila and Ogun.  This divination was seen by many Palos through out the world on April 1st 2001.  In Synchronization it was accepted and the new law and scribes were put in place. 7 house of Palos were designated around the world. Africa,Cuba,Mexico,Panama,Spain,Venezuela and Columbia will choose new born Ayelos and will teach them the original secrecy of IFA and Regla de Ocha. What is original you ask? The sacred rituals and ceremonies once practiced by our ancestors.  Their are many patakis (stories) in you tube,facebook and even scholars have it all mistaken. As you read these patakis their were contradictions, made no sense and at times left you with hundreds of questions. But the power of our ancestors and orichas will always call upon you. The truth lays within the patakis. Many scholars with years of studies still were not able to crack the codes of "IFA" "Regla de Ocha" Santeria, Brujeria. The reason why we as Oricha priest understand that the punishment of an Oricha is unbearable to any spirit here on earth or in the heavens. So many learned what we only allowed you too learn and with the permission of the Orichas. The seven African powers (The Siete Potencias).

     As an example remember in Cuba "Regla de ocha" was synchronized with the saints of Catholicism. Through this deep synchronization, St. Barbara was synchronize with "SHANGO". Still til this today she is celebrated through out the streets of Cuba and lukumi Santeria. The truth is that St. Barbara has nothing in common with Shango, only the sounds of thunder and the color red. The reason Shango was synchronized with St. Barbarra, was solely coincidental that they both shared the celebration date. December 4th. There patakis,there strengths and weakness,their spiritual guides and paths are not even close in comparison.

     The Spiritual Instructions school is who we are. As of June 12th 1993 the supreme  court allowed the final acceptance of "IFA" and "Regla de Ocha" by ruling that animal sacrifice is a essential part of our practice and there for ruled in favor of "ANIMAL SACRIFICES".  This ruling was the ruling Palos have been waiting for hundreds of years.  Practitioners can now come forward and practice according to the paths taught hundreds of years ago. Just as our ancestors intended for us to do. The fight was not over through the years of appeals by many animal groups and organizations. Palos knew we won the fight. Our spiritual beliefs were now under the protection of The Right of free "RELIGION" and its practices. For ten years as the appeals were exhausting "IFA" and Regla de Ocha prepared their Ayelos and young priest capable to learn the original way. It took discipline, lots of schooling and dedication.  The Palos and "ELDER" God parents all over the world began associations through social media, face book,skype,instagram,and wassap to gather all the information and correct forms of many journeys. True images,True words,rituals,chants,ceremonial dances and more are now being innitiated and distributed. ¿Qué es Regla de ocha? (La regla de Ocha) (Santería)

     Regla de Ocha (Santería) es una hermosa religión que es vibrante, empoderante y canta a tu espíritu. La ILE de Shango esperamos compartir este sentimiento extraordinario con ustedes, y siempre dedicaremos nuestra vida espiritual al respeto de los Orishas. En el pasado, nuestros escribas, rituales y ceremonias debían mantenerse en secreto mientras recorría su Viaje espiritual. Esta LEY del secreto se modificó en los últimos 25 años.
